Caring for the world around us and protecting our natural resources are important parts of our responsibility as a good corporate citizen.
Qui Burris, a professional development program associate at Colonial Life, talks about her personal commitment to conserving resources and protecting the environment as the leader of Colonial Life’s Green Team.
In addition to strong professional training opportunities, one of the things that drew me to Colonial Life was the company’s focus on encouraging employees to get involved in areas of service that are meaningful to them.
It’s important to be part of a company that gives everyone the chance to give back.
I’ve always been passionate about making the world a better place for future generations, especially when it comes to the environment. So when I arrived at Colonial Life, the Green Team provided me with an immediate community of like-minded colleagues who share a similar passion. While a lot of what we do involves connecting employees with green initiatives right here on campus, we also get involved with community service activities, like tree plantings, clean-up days and Earth Day celebrations.
Being part of the Green Team, and having the opportunity to lead our Columbia team, has made my decision to join Colonial Life even more meaningful. It’s inspiring to know that when we say we’re committed to protecting people’s livelihoods and quality of life, that includes protecting the environment we all share, too.
