Millions of nonprofits across the country took past this week in an annual fundraising drive that brings together agencies, donors and corporate sponsors to do good.
Midlands Gives, sponsored by the Central Carolina Community Foundation and part of the Give Local America! initiative, raised nearly $1.6 million in just 36 hours to support SC nonprofits.
And Colonial Life played a big role.
Colonial Life’s support of the 2016 effort included $10,000 to help train and educate nonprofits on using social media to get the most from the Midlands Gives event.
An additional $5,000 in corporate giving was “unlocked” on social media and was awarded to 10 randomly chosen charities in $500 increments. The Central Carolina Community Foundation named Colonial Life the official Social Media Champion of the annual fundraising event.
The 10 #ColonialLifeCares prizes were given to:
- St. John Neumann Catholic School
- Palmetto Health Foundation
- Challenger Learning Center Foundation
- SC HIV/AIDS Council
- Saluda Shoals Foundation
- INNERSOLE
- Lexington Interfaith Community Services
- Richland Library Foundation
- Cure Sanfillipo Foundation
- Family Connection of SC
Nonprofits across the region shared their appreciation for Colonial Life’s generosity on social media:
