Colonial Life and its employees worked together in March to help feed the Midlands’ hungry through the annual Cash & Cans food drive to benefit Harvest Hope Food Bank.
During the 10-day drive, more than 1,650 pounds of food was collected from generous employees in bins around the Columbia campus.
In addition to the food donations, contributions were collected to allow Harvest Hope to purchase needed food supplies in bulk. Between employee contributions, matching corporate gifts and a Colonial Life contribution, more than $20,000 was raised.
Each month, more than 150,000 people turn to Harvest Hope Food Bank. And the organization, which is celebrating 35 years of great community service this year, reaches out with more than 2 million pounds of food.
